These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Teyno VPN Chrome extension (the “Extension”). By installing or using the Extension, you agree to these Terms.

License and use

  • We grant you a limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable license to use the Extension for personal or internal business purposes.
  • You may not reverse engineer, decompile, modify, resell, or redistribute the Extension except as permitted by law.

Proxy usage and responsibility

  • The Extension configures your browser to use a proxy gateway defined by your configuration.
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to use the configured proxy gateways and for complying with all applicable laws.
  • You must not use the Extension to infringe intellectual property rights, violate privacy, or engage in illegal activities.

Configuration and availability

  • The Extension relies on configuration files hosted on your CDN. Availability and correctness of those files are your responsibility.
  • When available, server health data may be used to improve automatic server selection. Such data is optional and not guaranteed.

Credentials

  • If credentials are required by your proxy, you are responsible for their security and proper use.
  • The Extension will use credentials only to authenticate with the configured proxy and will not disclose them to third parties beyond the proxy itself.

No warranties

  • The Extension is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non‑infringement.

Limitation of liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Extension.

Termination

  • We may terminate or suspend access to the Extension at any time for any reason. You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it.

Modifications to the Terms

  • We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Extension after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing law

  • These Terms shall be governed by the laws applicable in the publisher’s jurisdiction unless otherwise required by local law.

This Privacy Policy explains how the Teyno VPN Chrome extension (the “Extension”) handles information. We designed the Extension to be privacy‑first and to avoid collecting personal data.

Data we collect

  • We do not collect analytics or tracking data.
  • We do not collect personal information (PII).
  • The Extension stores only local preferences and connection state in chrome.storage.local on your device.

Configuration and health data

  • The Extension fetches signed configuration (and optional server health data) from your CDN endpoint.
  • Configuration is verified using Ed25519 signatures before being used.
  • Health data, when available, is used solely to improve automatic server selection and is not transmitted elsewhere by the Extension.

Proxy credentials

  • If proxy credentials are configured in your CDN configuration, they are used only for authenticating to your proxy gateway.
  • Credentials are applied locally to the browser’s proxy settings and are not transmitted to any third party other than the configured proxy.
  • The Extension does not log or store credentials beyond what is required to maintain an active proxy session.

Permissions rationale

  • proxy: to configure the browser’s proxy.
  • webRequest, webRequestAuthProvider: to provide credentials to the proxy on demand.
  • storage: to store local preferences and connection state.
  • alarms: to refresh configuration/health periodically.
  • notifications: to provide user feedback.
  • host_permissions: <all_urls>: necessary for proxy operation and lightweight connectivity probes.

Cookies and tracking

  • The Extension does not set or read third‑party cookies and does not perform tracking.

Children’s privacy

  • The Extension is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Data retention

  • Local preferences and state persist on your device until you uninstall the Extension or clear extension data.

Security

  • We use signed configuration and minimal local storage to reduce risk. Nevertheless, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Changes to this policy

  • We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in this document with an updated effective date.

Contact

  • If you have questions about this policy, contact the publisher of the extension via email support@teyno.xyz.
